The course examines diagnostic clinical reasoning models that differentiate osteopathic medicine from other health professions. Students review the five structure-function models of osteopathic care and how they relate to the musculoskeletal system. The concept of a somatic dysfunction and its relation to the spinal motion are explained. At the end of the study, students advance their understanding of the osteopathic techniques, their their mechanics and indication for osteopathic treatment.
